The Biggest 'Sorry' Mistake in Australia's History

What about the sorry from the UK for all the white children taken from their parents and shipped to Australia? Someone tell me about that!

From Andrew Bolt.

IN two weeks Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will make a deadly mistake. He plans to apologise to a "stolen generation" no one can actually find, writes Andrew Bolt.

In fact, he'll say sorry to children who don't exist, to keep alive a myth that is killing children who do.

Mad, but true, as Tasmania's Premier, Paul Lennon, simply confirmed last week when he gave $5 million to Aborigines he falsely claimed had been "stolen" from their families "on the basis of race".

How good Lennon felt as he shovelled out the cash. He was helping "reconciliation", he boasted, by giving up to $58,000 a head to 84 Aborigines who'd been stolen for racist reasons, and a few thousand dollars apiece to another 22 people whose parents had been likewise snatched.

He even urged Rudd to follow his example and cough up compo of his own when he said his sorry: "I hope he looks at Tasmania and see what we have been able to achieve here."

And, yes. Let's indeed look at Tasmania. Please.

Some scrutiny would be a healthy change given that the media, which happily reported Lennon's untruths, has so far shown zero interest in examining who was actually getting his money, and on what evidence.
